Jim-Isaac Chua
Doors Open at 2:00 PM.
Performance at 2:45pm
Since his solo debuts at Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) and the Kosciuszko Foundation in New York in 2009, Jim-Isaac Chua’s performances have been celebrated in the USA, Canada, Poland, France, Italy, Austria, and in South-East Asia.
During the Filipino-American pianist’s 2023-2024 season, he performed across the USA, Poland, France, Austria, and the Philippines in over 40 different halls including Three-Rivers Convention Center, Krzysztofory Palace (Fontana Hall), Pacific Maritime Heritage Center, Polish Cultural Center in Seattle, Józef Świder Concert Hall, Kimbrough Concert Hall, Bing Crosby Theater, Gesellschaft für Musiktheater, Wiener-Krakauer Kultur Gesellschaft, CSI Fine Arts Center, Rodelsa Hall, and Fernan Cebu Press Center where the Cebu Arts Society wrote: “[Chua] gifted us with one of the most beautiful piano performance we have ever seen.” His passion for using concerts to benefit non-profit organizations like Grace Clinic, Habitat for Humanity, and The Arc Foundation has also resulted in him being featured on several TV and radio interviews; he has notably been featured regularly on the cover of numerous newspapers across Oregon (The Nugget, Go! Eastern Oregon, The Times Journal, and Central Oregon Daily.) Over the last two years, his concerts have raised over $200,000 USD for humanitarian organizations.
A Benefit Concert For Crossroads Education Program
Crossroads Arts Education
ArtSpeak was founded in 1987 by Debbie Friedman, and its original purpose was to help underserved and disadvantaged populations within the community. Since then, it has benefitted hundreds and positively impacted thousands. Crossroads Carnegie Art Center has been a stable base of support for ArtSpeak for many years by providing space for classes, assistance in grant writing and donated administrative services.
While the program continues to focus on making the arts accessible to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity, ArtSpeak has evolved into Crossroads’ comprehensive Education Program. This means there is no longer a distinction between “ArtSpeak” classes and “Program” classes; instead, we embrace a unified vision. At the heart of Crossroads lies ArtSpeak, and a passionate belief in the transformative power of the arts, ensuring that they are available to everyone, regardless of their circumstances.

Artists, event organizers and owners of Churchill School
We are so thankful for all of the support this project has received from the community, our friends and family. It’s hard to believe how much we have accomplished here at Churchill School since 2018 with the help of the community, friends, family, volunteer groups and complete strangers.
We’re so glad you found us and hope you come see us here soon. Go to our Events page for more info on shows in the concert venue here at Churchill School. Check out our Lodging page if you’re looking of an “old school” place to stay in Baker City or click on the “Learn More” to read about us and the process of restoring this 1925 schoolhouse.
